Came across these great style boards by Chris Saunders for Blind. Looks like it never got made, but the idea fit for a UFC promo that Blind did.
Some very nice boards for Wilson done by Jarratt Moody.
Lucsious or Felipe Posada created this is a few years back. If you like this look, well you’re going to have a great eye for design
because this one is beautiful. But, to learn how “grow” elements on in the background like Felipe, check out Jayse Hansen’s tutorial on CreativeCow.net to get started. Some of those masking principals are useful. Also, looks like some 3d stroke is flying around in there as well.
Chris DiNicholas new boards look great.
While at the Famous Group Zero Version designed some cool boards for the 49′s. Famous Group‘s 2009 reel is up with some recognizable sports stuff. Check back soon for a new website.
If you check this site often, you know I really like posting boards, but I don’t come across that many sports boards. A lot of sports graphics (especially in-game) are pretty quick turn around and the idea of creating boards can be a bit of a tough sell to the powers that be. But it is interesting that the boards I do find are not only really great but usually are never made into spots. Go figure.
Sebastian Onufszak of Germany has some very beautiful boards.
Born in Breslau, Poland in 1978, Sebastian Onufszak is a German visual artist focusing on print, interactive media and motion graphics.
Since 2002 he has been working for an international range of high-end clients. Additionally he is reknowned for his experimental live visuals which supported Funkstoerung, Mouse on Mars, Michael Fakesch and many more.
His works were featured in numerous publications and exhibitions worldwide. He is founder of the well-known artist collective “Propagandabuero”.
Having worked as Creative Director at Parasol Island for more than two years, he is now available as a freelance designer and director.
Also, take note of his “information” section on his site. Very complete, including links to all his profiles on sites such as myspace and cpluv. I think its great to have that information available. Also, check out Grey Scale Gorilla’s post on making “about” webpages.
Lost Project, or Craig Stouffer, motion director extraordinaire has some great and very recognizable work done with Troika. His reel is from 2007 but check out his NFL network and NBC Football projects. Super glossy, reflecting, lens flare goodness.
Really cool Sprint NASCAR spot (what’s up with all these NASCAR posts lately?) but an even cooler case study. Complete with boards, animatics and pictures. You can learn a lot about the process of creating spots like this from case studies. Especially when they are as in depth as 3 Legged Legs. Keep up the good work guys.
Some really great boards from Superfad’s CG/VFX Director Dade Orgeron. Sadly it seems these boards for ESPN College Basketball never got produced. But they sure are beautiful.
Opening title storyboards for ESPN’s coverage of the NCAA championships. CG elements created in XSI and rendered with MentalRay. Final frames composited in Photoshop.
