Happy New Year

My new year’s resolution is to update this site every work day (M-Fri). But, it’s tough to find worthy posts. So thats why I’ve decided to offer free posts in the Featured section to anyone that offers a link to their work. Ideally that means everyday there will be a new “Featured” contributor in the 5 rotating featured section at the top of the home page. Even if you’re a big company, if you send me you’re work, you go straight to the top of this blog.
So send me you’re demo reel, player intro, in-game feature or edited tribute video. Or better yet, upload them to Vimeo or Youtube and send me the link. That way, if for some reason you’re asked to remove your work, you have control over your videos. (*cough)
I can’t wait to see you’re new work, good luck in 2009.
Roman Farias for The Chicago White Sox
Roman Farias along with Justin Tuazon and everyone else at the Chicago White sox did a great job on this in-game video for game one of the Cubs/Sox series last season.
mfactor for Fox NFL
Old news here, but my buddy Ben just found out that mfactor did those sweet lower thirds on Fox’s NFL sunday. Unfortunately, the site is all flash so I can’t link to any of there work directly. But check out it.
BCS Maze by Fox Sports Graphics
Another nice BCS animation from Fox Sports Graphics.
This shot reminded me of the tutorial on FXphd After Effects 302 in which they teach you how to comp together a helecopter shot with a few green screened shots of dudes running. I’m not presuming that Fox Sports used the FXphd technique, but if you want to know how to do something close to this. Check it out.
Sky Sports : Super Sunday
Really nice process from Justin Bates. Check out his site. I love these kinds of “how-to” or “our process” videos. What the technical term for that? Check out Justin’s C4D section for some great thinking particles inspiration.
