Pretty epic Futbol video game trailer from Kotoc out of Barcelona Spain. I think I recognize the audio from video copilot. They also did a really nice job on the Esport Club show graphics.
Some great work from Campmeia Studios from Argentina. These matte paintings are stunning. Take a look at their site for a full break down of what they did for TyC sports.
I started this blog a couple of years ago and this has to rank up there in my top 10 favorite posts. In terms of editing and shooting style, it doesn’t get any better than this. I love the style of these ESPN “Best” spots by Carlos Serrao. Carlos is an amazing photographer whose work is simply stunning. The simplicity and boldness of these spots truly capture the drama of the action and the attitude of the “Best”. Shooting with a Phantom camera doesn’t hurt either, but pay special attention to the music. Where some directors may ask you for some text hits or a motion graphic effect, a well placed edit to the music can take your piece from cheesy to, well… the “Best” (read *update below!). So take a break from those AE and C4D tutorials and brush up on your editing.

The music for these spots (except the hockey) were composed and performed by Derek Cintron. What is immediately noticeable about these tracks is that they don’t have that digital band sound. Thats because Derek performed these instruments live, AFTER the spots were edited! Amazing collaboration and the results speak for themselves. Check out more of Derek Cintron’s work with DC3. It’s safe to say you’ll be hearing DC3 in stadiums and amphitheaters in the future, either touring them or at a sporting event on the jumbotron.
