Another cool one from National Television.

Sidenote, National TV did a great job with their site. If you’re familiar with this blog then you know that I absolutely hate flash websites. Rarely do they follow any of the logic that years of html has dictated and simple things like linking to a “page” gets left out of the coding. So, congrats National Television. For making a flash website thats actually a pleasure to visit and easy to share.

Superfad for Nascar

superfad_nascar

One of my favorite production companies Superfad, has created two very different spots for Nascar. First up is ‘Pressure’ a chalkboard animated spot that turned out amazing. I was struggling last summer with a similar chalkboard look for some personal work, and seeing what Superfad did here is intimidating. The wheels look like hand drawn animation while the rest is 3d.

Advertising

Sorry everyone, google ads are back up on the site. I know it’s not pretty, but my hosting isn’t cheap and considering I’ve made a whopping $3 in advertising revenue from the day I launched the site, I’m not expecting this to really put a dent in my hosting costs. But its worth a shot.

Gkaster 2008 Demo Reel

You may remember Gkaster from his previous work for Euro Sport. Well he’s just posted his new demo reel, and though I don’t see too much sports related graphics, his work is simply amazing. And as a fellow C4D user its great to see a talent like Gkaster using it to its fullest potential. Feel free to ask questions in the comments section, who knows he may even reply. :)

Fox Sports for Nascar

This is awesome. Really great idea, and very well executed.

Maybe it’s the speed, maybe it’s the power, or maybe it’s just the ear-splitting noise, but something about tackling a new
NASCAR project always inspires a lot of really interesting and fun ideas for us to dive into, and this year was no exception. (more…)

All the superbowl commercials are on hulu

My favorite was Pepsuber: http://www.hulu.com/watch/55730/super-bowl-xliii-ads-pepsi-pepsuber

NBC is going to be rolling out a new graphics package for the big game tomorrow. Including a newly designed scorebug that will morph into stats.

The network is tweaking the use of its score bug, which shows both the score and the game clock, to make the overall graphic look less intrusive on the TV screen. Instead of showing individual player stats on-screen at the same time as the score bug, NBC will have the score bug morph into a different graphic, with the score and time momentarily disappearing from the screen.

Looking forward to it.
